Hi,
“”From email address
It will appear as if emails are sent from this address. Ideally this should be in the same domain as this server to avoid spam filters.””
Im very suprised this field is NOWHERE to be found, not on tutorials or documentation.
Please explain what this is for since i cant seem to understand its use.
Its very annoying and in the way, and i cant seem to NOT use it.
“FROM EMAIL” -> seems obviously to me that the FROM EMAIL is the email from the person thats using the contact form.
Since im not using the contact form to SEND any emails with but only receiving.
When testing the contact form as “John Doe” i receive the email in my inbox and it automatically fills in my default wordpress email as the “FROM EMAIL” stating in my inbox: John Doe
Why the hell is my default wordpress email being shown next to the name of the person submitting the contact form???
thanks.
Hi Angelos,
The From Email is the email used to send the email, not the user who sent the email. This email is different to the user submitted email as the user submitted email cannot be used (as it’s at a different domain) or the email will be flagged as spam (if not, entirely rejected). Unfortunately, this is unavoidable.
You’ll see the submitted user email in the email. You can also click reply to automatically reply to the user.
