I had an installation of wp I was working on and this past week I updated the page builder plugin and I think the widgets bundle plugin… After that my gallery would not upload photos and I couldn’t add any new pages to the site without getting this error ‘Connection lost’ unable to save …
Since it was a fairly new installation I decided to just delete it and start fresh. So I just installed a new wp installation and from the dashboard all I have done is install page builder, vantage premium upgrade and meta slider.
Just when I added a new page… ‘Connection lost’…. and then it locks me out of the dashboard and says the server is not responding –
Is this a theme thing or a hosting thing?
Thanks so much for any help.
Michelle
Hi Michelle
Sorry to hear about the hassle.
This does sound a like a hosting related problem. Are you hosted with GoDaddy? There are lots of threads on this topic on the WP.org forums, related to GoDaddy. One easy fix, which didn’t work but is worth trying, is to go to Settings > Permalinks and hit Save, that’ll create a new .htaccess file.
You’ve already done a few of the steps here: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/ perhaps try running through the ones you haven’t.
Thanks so much. I thought I would post here for others that may be having the same problem.
I was able to work it out with my hosting company. They changed some settings and everything has worked fine since.
