Conflict with another plugin since update

Since the page builder update, I have a conflict with another plugin, wp recipemaker. I had contact with the developer of this plugin, so he knows about the problem. What happens is this: If I use the editor to create text and import a recipe from the wp recipe maker, I can not save and publish the message. I get a ‘500 error’ or the message that the internet connection has been broken, while this is not the case. What can I do to fix this? I’d like to keep using both plugins! Greetings, Esther Out

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Esther,

Preface: To confirm, this is the plugin, right?

To clarify, are you sure these two plugins are conflicting? I ask as if other plugins are still activated this issue may be as a result of a different plugin.

You can verify this conflict by disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins (leave WP Recipe Maker active) and see the issue still occurs? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If the issue still occurs, please try disabling WP Recipe Maker. Does the issue still occur? If not, let me know.

If it doesn’t, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue. Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for you reply!

Yes, you have the right plugin. I am sure these are the two plugins conflicting. I checked it, my host checked it and the developer of receipemaker checked it. We disabled all plugins and cleared all caches before testing one by one.

It still didn’t work. Recipemaker without SOpagebuilder works fine, so the problem seems to be pagebuilder. It also worked (and still works) fine with pagebuilder before the update so it must be something in pagebuilder.

Is it possible for you to contact the developer of wprecipemaker to see if you professionals can work it out together? I know a little about wordpress and so on, but I’m far from an expert.

I hope you can help me!

    Met vriendelijke groet,

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Esther,

This issue is as a result of this line (wp_update_post( $recipe );). It’s triggering an infinite loop as SiteOrigin Page Builder is still able to detect the post data on submission and is resaving it to the recipe which, in turn, is causing the loop to occur again. I’m going to log this as a bug and we’ll look into resolving this.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Esther,

You can find the GitHub issue here. I would recommend forwarding it to the developers.
