Hello,
for two weeks I am having the problem, that I get a “white screen of death” when I try to edit a post.
Turning debugging on brought up that the plugins ‘SiteOrigins Page Builder’ and ‘Newsletter2go’ are somehow causing the problem.
If I deactivate one of the plugins (no matter which one) the site works as it should.
I am using wordpress 5.0.3 and all plugins are updated.
Switching themes didn’t help.
Is this by any chance a know problem? Is there a way to fix this?
Hi FReam,
Based on the following sentence I suspect you’re experiencing a plugin between three plugins.
Does this issue occur when the only plugins active are SiteOrigin Page Builder and Newsletter2go? If not, please activate every other plugin you previously had active until this issue returns. Once it does, please deactivate all plugins except for SiteOrigin Page Builder, Newsletter2go and the last activated plugin? If so, what was the last activated plugin?> If not, please repeat the above test until this issue occurs when only three plugins are active – if this doesn’t happen, let me know.
Hi Alex,
thank you for the quick response.
I just tried to work only with ‘SiteOrigins Page Builder’ and ‘Newsletter2go’ activated.
Unfortunately the problem is still there.
Hi FReam,
Does this issue occur when only those two plugins are active and a default WordPress theme?
Hi Alex,
yes, it still occurs. I switched to Twenty Nineteen and still had the same error (only with those two plugins running)
Hi FReam,
Thanks. Please enable WP_DEBUG which will allow for the PHP error message to occur on the previously blank page. This can be done by editing your wp-config.php file. If you need help with editing that file, please reach out to your hosting provider for assistance. Once enabled, please replicate this issue and then send me the error message you see on the previously blank page.
This is what I got:

Hi FReam,
Thanks. According to the provided error, it appears as though Newsletter2go isn’t compatible with the way we’re loading widget assets. This typically occurs when they expect widgets to only be loaded on the widgets page (WP AdminAppearanceWidgets) and to fix this issue, the developer will need to allow for assets to be loaded anywhere in WP Admin. Can you please reach out to the developers of Newsletter2Go about this?
Hi Alex,
thank you for the analysis and the really quick responses! I will reach out to Newsletter2Go and hope they will fix the issue.
Best regards,
FReam
Hi FReam,
No worries. Let me know how you go. :)
If the developer has any questions for us please direct them our way.
Hi Alex,
the problem was finally solved by newsletter2go. It seems like our proxyserver was blocked by their firewall, which caused the malfunction.
Now everything works just fine.
Hi FReam,
Great to hear you were able to find out what was going on and find a fix.
Please be sure to post another thread if you have any other questions.
