Configure default Widget when we switch from Wysiwyg to SiteOrigin

Hello, I would like to know if it’s possible to choose a custom widget to be used when we switch from WYSIWYG editor view to the page builder editor on an admin page.

For exemple, I have an old page constructed with the default classic wordpress editor. When I click to the button “Page Builder”, it get the text from my classic editor, and put it in the default “SiteOrigin Editor” widget, but I would like to choose and other widget (a custom one) to be used instead of this one. Is there a filter or action to do it that I could add to my functions.php theme file ?

If not, could you add this functionnality to the plugin ? Thank you so much !

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Xella,

Thanks for reaching out. It’s possible to override the default import widget by using the siteorigin_panels_text_widget_class filter. This filter allows you to override the widget class used and it’ll add the content to a field with the id of text. This id can’t be changed so the underlying id of the field you wish to import the data into must be text.

    Kind regards,
    Alex
