Hello,
I’m a beginner in WordPress and designed my homepage www.rolandheibel.de also with the Page Builder. Everything worked fine. Then within the last 4 weeks I noticed that the columns are no longer shown side by side but below each other. For example see the page wwww.rolandheibel.de/veranstaltungsuebersicht/
Maybe I changed anything but can’t remember it. Can anybody help me? Please remember that everything worked fine for a few weeks than it changed.
Kind regards from Germany
Roland
Hi Roland,
This issue is occurring due to a SiteOrigin Page Builder asset not being included in the output, front-flex.css. Are you using any plugins that allow you to filter out certain assets? If so, can you please include this file in the output?
if you’re not too sure if you are, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing responsible for the removal.
If that doesn’t help, you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hi Alex,
I don’t know how to include the file front-flex.css in the output. I’m a beginner and I don’t know where to find the front-flex.css and what is the output?
Meanwhile I removed the plugins to the same when the pages already worked. I cleared the caches with the WPFC but the problem is still there. Maybe it depends on the theme but it worked already a few weeks.
Thanks for your help. Maybe I have to go to a WP-Professional.
Regards from Germany
Hi Roland,
front-flex.css isn’t something you normally need to worry about including as it’s automatically output unless something prevents it. To confirm, did you run the plugin conflict test?
You can view the file here.
Hi Alex,
yes, I did. I have inactivated all the other plugins, which I added during creating the page.
When I inactivate the theme plugins, the font and other things change but not the appearing of the widgets/columns. So at the moment I activated again the most important plugins for my site. Nevertheless site origin worked with them for a few weeks correct.
Will it help to delete the Site Origin Plugins and install and activate the new? Will I have to do all the customizing work again?
Hi Roland,
You really need to run a full plugin conflict test. I know things used to work but sadly issues can be introduced over time as a result of plugin and theme updates. Can you please run a full plugin conflict test?
That’s fine. We understand there may be times where a complete reinstall may be required so we don’t removal settings on uninstall.
Hi Alex,
is it ok to inactivate the plugins or do I have to delete them?
Hi Roland,
You can deactivate the plugins, you do not need to delete it.
Hi Alex,
this morning I deactivated all the plugins. Only the Site Origin Page Builder, widgets bundle and CSS were activated. The cache was deleted. The problem with the columns is still there.
Hi Roland,
Did you temporarily change theme also to rule out a possible theme conflict?
Hi Alex,
it's difficult to check this. If I change theme then I can not see the menu to go to the special sites.
I have tried again with WordPress theme Twenty Seventeen. The design is completely different but it seems that the columns are now shown side by side but with other sizes.
I think it's a conflict with the theme.
Hi Roland,
Can you please try updating your theme? Based on the themes changelog, in 1.5.8.1 (2017-04-12) there was an update released in relation to SiteOrigin Page Builder. It should, hopefully, resolve this issue.
Hi Alex,
great. Thanks. Everything is ok now.
