Color Overlay For Header Video Background

Hi there,

In the video background section, there is a space for a color overlay, but no input field- I presume this isn´t ready yet?

Can you give me a temporary workaround?

Many thanks.

Dan

    Hi Redline,

Could you please clarify what widget you’re using. I’m unable to work out the widget name based on your post. :(

    Hi,

I´m using the “”Background Videos For Site Origin” plug in, and it´s under the edit row, row styles> Background Video section.

    Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Redline,

So this must be you then. I’m actually unsure of what you’re actually after. As such, I’ll list two possible things your after. If it’s either please tell me, if it’s neither please clarify further.

You want a color overlay over the video. Think of like a red layer over the video – it adds like a tint.
You would like the video to have, by default, a video background before it loads.

    Let me know which one.

    Hi Alex,

I´d like a red opaque tint layer over the video, so I can blend it into the rest of the site.

    Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Redline,

Please open the video background settings group with the widget you wish to have the video background added to. Scroll down and set the video overlay to colour. Then scroll down further and set the overlay colour.

If you don’t see this, please ensure you have the latest version of the plugin (SiteOrigin Page Builder, SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and the Video Backgrounds for SiteOrigin Page Builder plugin). If you do, could you please screenshot what you see under the background settings group and your plugins list.

Let me know if this helps.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Redline,

Hm. That’s really odd. What version of WordPress are you using? Could you run a plugin conflict test to see if there’s another plugin overriding the form field.

For references, here’s the plugin conflict test:

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins (and the video background plugin) and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If none of the above helps and you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
