Code at the top of my page?

6 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 6 years ago

I built my site about two years ago, with no knowledge of WordPress before. Since then, I haven’t made many changes to it. Now I am trying to add a new page and every time I create a new page I have all this code showing at the top of the page when I go to live editor, even when I copy a page that doesn’t show the code after I copy it, it is there. I wish I could post a picture of it or copy the text, but it won’t let me copy it.

    Hi TeeKay

Please, take a screenshot of the issue, upload to imgur.com or similar and send us the link. Thanks :)

Thanks. Does the issue persist if you temporarily deactivate all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin?

Does the issue persist if you temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins AND switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen? If so, please, send a link to a page impacted by the issue.

    No, it doesn’t

The code doesn’t show up in the Twenty Nineteen theme. Of course, now my site doesn’t look the same. What does this mean? A problem with Page Builder Framework? (That’s the theme I am using.) Someone told me that when I previously used the theme, there were ShortCodes in the page builder, and apparently they are not there now. I have no idea what this means or how I can get rid of the code. Please don’t tell me I have to redo my site.

It means that the theme is involved in the issue. Please, reactivate your theme and send us a link to an impacted page. Thanks.

Thanks. It might be worth also reaching out to theme support for a hand https://wp-pagebuilderframework.com/support/.

It looks like the shortcodes are in your menu. Try and investigate the issue from there. How were widgets added to your menu? Are you perhaps using https://wp-pagebuilderframework.com/docs/mega-menu/. If so, if you go to Appearance > Menus and access your menu, are there shortcodes in the menu item descriptions?

Theme support might have a much better idea of what’s happened and how Page Builder is being used in the menu.
