Cloning a Post that includes SiteOrigin Post Carousel

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

I am working with a small UK Registered Charity and trying to simplify their input to a new site that is being built using the free Vantage theme, Page Builder and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. While constructing a page template for them which includes the SiteOrigin Post Carousel widget I have encountered a strange anomaly that I can’t rationalise.

If the template for the post is constructed using Page Builder and a number of Widgets including the Post Carousel (with Taxonomies set to include a single category and ordered by Ascending Title) then every time the layout is cloned into a new post the taxonomies and ordering are not copied across and just return to their default state.

However, if the template is built in the same way but inside the Layout Builder Widget then the taxonomies and ordering are successfully cloned.

As I only discovered the workaround after having done most of the build I am loathe to go back and change everything (even though I want to make life as simple as possible for the end-user) so was wondering whether this is a known issue that is likely to be fixed shortly
