Circle Icons not Displaying properly

By zblewett, 9 years ago. Last reply by zblewett, 9 years ago.

When first navigating to my home page in Chrome and Firefox the 3 circle icons I have below my slider display as boxes. This occurs in chrome as thick green boxes and in firefox “E6” is visible in a thin green box.
If you navigate away from the home page and then come back the icons display properly.
Anyone else encountering this?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi zblewett

When testing in OS X, Chrome and Firefox are loading the circles correctly. Loading as squares suggests the CSS for those widgets is initially not loading. Is the issue persisting on your side?

Yes. Every time I view the home page for the first time the icons appear as squares.

It also occurs with the social icons in the top right and the search icon

    Hi, I Work Here

Please head to Settings > General, is your WordPress and Site url different? It looks like one could be https and the other http. They need to be the same url, this issue will then resolve.

Cross domain loading of assets is the problem.

    Hi, I Work Here

All seems sorted on my side now, in both Chrome and Firefox. Are you still seeing the error?

It shows up in chrome fine for me, but in firefox, it’s just a rectangle outline. This is because I have a script plug in not activated. Might you have the same thing?

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks. Can you perhaps explain what you mean by:

This is because I have a script plug in not activated

I’m not sure about a script plug in. I have the issue with all the browsers I have tested with.
If it is some kind of script problem I would like to find a way to reconcile this so that whenever someone came to my site they would see the font page displayed properly.
If anyone has any trouble shooting ideas let me know.
Could is be a hosting issue?
