Whit the Chrome update 99 i got a parallax issue on 2 sites, both in the Sydney theme from Athemes.
Athemes has fixed this issue for the theme but this issue is also in the SiteOrigin pagebuilder, Athemes can not do anything about that.
If you have an image in a row in Firefox the parallax in the row with the image works fine, but if you look at it in Chrome then you only see half of the image and the scrolling is messed up.
Is there any fix for this?
Hi GoCastaway
Thanks for reaching out.
We, unfortunately, haven’t been able to replicate the described issue. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Hi Andrew,
Take a look at https://xadus.nl
In Firefox you see the whole blue image with the white cubes in the correct size and it works fine, if you look in Chrome it’s just half of the image, the image size is wrong, and the parallax not good working.
Kind regards
Thanks for the link.
I’ve tried to recreate the issue. I’ve switched our Corp demo to use CSS-based parallax images and copied the row settings. You can view my attempt at the below link:
https://demo.siteorigin.com/corp/sandbox/
To help isolate the cause of the issue, please, try temporarily switching to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen. Does the issue persist?
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for the quick reply.
On your link it’s working fine. I just switched theme to Twenty Nineteen and then the image is totally gone, and there is also a row missing, see this screenshot: https://imgur.com/aTXHygG
If you want me to set the twenty nineteen theme so you can see it yourself, let me know.
Kind regards
Thanks for trying.
I’m not sure why that’s the case in Twenty Nineteen. Here is a Twenty Nineteen test page with the same layout I used earlier:
https://demo.siteorigin.com/twenty-nineteen-sandbox/
Put another way; we’re trying to find a working baseline. Once we find a working baseline we can add elements like the theme and plugins back until the issue re-occurs. Does the parallax row function in Twenty Nineteen with all plugins deactivated except for those plugins authored by SiteOrigin?
No problem!
It would be great to find a solution, but it’s late sleeping time here now, so i will look into it tomorrow again and do what you asked and will let you know.
I don’t know if there are more people with the same issue, if yes then an fix/update in the PageBuilder would be nice.
When i don’t find the issue and you want to find it out so that SiteOrigin can make an update/fix i am prepared to make a admin user on the site for you, so you can take a look there.
Kind regards
Hi Andrew,
I deactivated all plugins except the Sydney Toolbox and the issue still persist. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/eZQvatt
Also tried with deactivated Sydney Toolbox, just the same.
When the site is loading or refresh the page you see the image how it should be for a split second and then it’s gone.
In my opinion it must be an issue with Chrome from version 99 because in Firefox the site works fine.
Hi, thanks for the updates!
I’m using Chrome 100. Here is how the test page in Twenty Nineteen displays on my end https://imgur.com/a/tPnktVx.
I’ll ask Alex here at SiteOrigin to check on a Windows machine for us and let you know how that goes.
Thanks again.
Andrew

We don’t have any other reports at the moment.

Here is how the row looks on your site with the theme’s stylesheet removed: https://imgur.com/a/SHE6JCm.
If you could perhaps show me the page with Twenty Nineteen and all plugins deactivated, I’d be happy to take a look.
Thanks.
Here is the issue in the theme’s stylesheet:
You can look at the site now with all plugins deactivated except Sydney Toolbox on theme Twenty Nineteen.
I also made a admin login for you, maybe you can get info that way to fix the PageBuilder.
I will apply the parallax fix you send after you have looked into the admin
I’ve removed the login details.

Kindly note that the CSS rule above isn’t a fix. I’ve located the cause of the issue. If you’re in contact with theme support, kindly let them know that the rule I’ve indicated above is causing the issue you’re experiencing.
I’d be happy to inspect the issue in Twenty Nineteen. The Parallax row isn’t currently showing for me. Does it appear for you? Perhaps try re-adding the row background image and saving the page. That might help.
I know it’s a public forum, that’s not really a problem. I take out the login later in the admin and i have a custom login plugin so no worry.
I understand that you can’t give that support without a premium license, at the start i only wanted to inform SiteOrigin that there was a issue with the start of Chrome 99 and maybe more people have the same problem, i am since the update also on Chrome 100.
In Twenty Nineteen i also don’t see the image row, and the “services” row on top is also missing.
Thanks for your understanding.
The issue is caused by the above CSS rule. If you restore your site I’ll send a screenshot showing where the rule is.
The site is now in his original state with the Sydney theme
Thanks.
The following rule within the Sydney stylesheet is causing the problem. Kindly, let theme support know.

You can override the above rule in your Custom CSS as follows:
Thank you very much for your effort Andrew.
I will contact Athemes again with your screenshot and see if they can fix it in the theme.
Already placed your override rule in the custom css and that is working :)
Great support from you!
Thanks for hanging in there with me. I’m glad to hear the CSS fix is working!
Thanks for letting theme support know; I appreciate it.
If any queries or requests arise in the future, please, let us know.
Cheers for now.
Andrew
