Child Theme Question

I am currently using the Vantage Theme on a subdomain www.test.nesasales.com to create before going live. I am more of an amateur when it comes to coding and have questions regarding the child theme creation.

1) I am using the vantage theme with pagebuilder plugin, if I do not make a child theme and update the theme will the changes made with pagebuilder be overwritten?

2) If for some reason I attempt to create a child theme and I mess it up in the worst way possible, will it only mess up my subdomain and not my main site?

    Hi Dmykins,

    1. No. A child theme is not required for SiteOrigin Page Builder to function correctly.

    2. It’ll only mess up the child theme. Unless you make adjustments to the parent theme during the creation of the child theme which isn’t required. To clarify, you never need to touch the parent theme.

    I would recommend giving the Vantage child theme guide a quick read.
