Change blog archive layout on the Home page

Hi there,

I’m currently using the standard Vantage homepage (not custom homepage through the Page Builder plugin) as I like how it keeps my sidebar consistent throughout my site, and displays my most recent posts.

However, there’s some changes I’d like to make to how the posts are displayed on the homepage:

– Currently, the posts use the “Blog Archive Layout” defined in the theme settings. For this page I’d prefer a standard post loop, so that my most recent posts are displayed one after the other
– I’d also like to limit the number of posts that are shown per page to 5

Please could you let me know if this is possible to implement?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lauren

It’s possible, using Pages > Home, to set the Page Template to Default so that you have a sidebar and still use Page Builder to manage the page. You can then use the Post Loop widget to insert the loop of your choice.

    Hi Andrew,

I’ve done this now and in terms of the layout it’s fine. However, in order to use the this feture it forces you to create a page, which means the ACTUAL root of my site doesn’t pick up this page and this page is http://www.mysite.com/home

How do I make the actual root page of my site have this feature?
