Centering the map

The threads I found while looking for the answer to my question were great – a lot of options explained!

But, my problem: Using SiteOrigin, I make a row, for example with 50% in the middle and 25% on each side; then install the Google Maps (in this case “Pro”) widget, make all my settings, location, color, etc.

What always happens is that the thumbnail map always goes to the left, and what I’d like it to do is be in the center of the 50% box.

This being a responsive setup, once you get down small enough, like a phone, of course it runs out of room as has no option but to be in the middle. The Lightbox map always winds up in the middle – I’d like the thumbnail to be as well. Google people suggesting using a code including the shortcake for the map but I can’t find that either…

Is there an easier way to do this?…

Thank you in advance!…

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chowardart,

    Very sorry for the late reply! We work through a prioritized forum queue, and unfortunately, it’s taken us some time to get to your thread. As it’s been a while since you posted this, would you mind letting us know if you still need help? If so, we’ll jump right in.

    As a matter of fact, yes! I still run our (little) church website, and sometimes I post Google maps because they can give instructions…

    Up to now I've been adjusting the size percentage of the section with the widget, which of course gets all skewed with the responsive sizes…

    What I need to learn is how to use the Attributes menu on the right of the edit menus. I've tried putting code in there but it has no effect. I would like to ask for a couple of examples?

    Thanks!…

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chowardart,

    The CSS styles field only support inline styles, so for example:

    color: #f0f;
    font-weight: 600;

    Is valid, while:

    .example {
        color: #f0f;
    }

    .other-example {
        font-weight: 600;
    }

    Is not as those are not inline styles. Basically, you can set a property but you can’t use selectors. The field is purely intended for basic CSS adjustments to the container. If you wish to write full-on CSS you would need to set a class (in one of the class fields found in attributes section) and then use something like SiteOrigin CSS to refer to that class. Does that make sense?

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    I think that does make sense, and I will try that; also, I have downloaded the CSS product but haven't tried it yet (I live in South Florida and have kids; we're still getting back to normal after that near miss by hurricane Matthew).

    BTW, to give credit due, I found about Site Origin from ThinkUpThemes when I bought one of their templates; once I saw what Site Origin could do I was hooked! I'm kind of laid up with a really bad back, so I've been helping family members and the church with all I know, and having the ability to create and change sites with SO is really cool. Money's tight (without me working), but I DO want to get the Premium as soon as I can. It seems there is little one cannot do with your stuff. I bought into a developer package before that turned out to be a waste and just another method of selling more stuff. I've already published stuff using SO so I'd like to return the favor as soon as I can…

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chowardart,

    Sorry to hear about that mate. Hopefully, you and your family are all safe!

    Think Up Themes? Quick question, are you still using their version? If so, consider trying the main version of SiteOrigin Page Builder (be sure to disable their version before switching or you’ll run into a large error). Their version is based on version 1.x of SiteOrigin Page Builder so the interface and functionality (ignoring the changes they’ve made) is quite limited when compared to how things are these days.

    To clarify, SiteOrgin Premium isn’t compatible with their version (SiteOrgin Premium was only just recently released). :(

    Already did! Site Origin Builder took over a long time ago! The only thing that’s left is the basic template design but I added all kinds of content using the builder.

    Hey, I know this went more than a freebie is slotted… Thanks!…
