Category archive style pagebuilder widget

Hello,
I was wondering if SiteOrigin offers (or knows of) any plugins that display a category archive style of posts in a page. When I select a category as an element in my navigation menu, the resulting page lists all the posts associated with that category and a snippet along with a “read more” button. I would like to make use of this functionality as a plugin in pagebuilder, so that I can have a list of category-specific post snippets nested inside a page. Is there an existing widget that does this?
Thanks.

    Hi Mpdev

Sure, you can use the Post Loop widget inserted into any page via our Page Builder plugin. Use the Query Builder button inside the Post Loop widget to select the category you want to display.

Ok, but the post loop is constrained. I want vertical orientation, not horizontal scroll. I want to show text up until the read more. And I want to show the snippet with formatting. I simply want a more robust option than the post loop.

    Sure, I’m with you.

Ok, but the post loop is constrained. I want vertical orientation, not horizontal scroll.

If you edit the Post Loop widget you can choose between the following templates:

    Blog (vertical display)
    Grid
    Circle Icon
    Slider

I want to show text up until the read more

If you select the Blog template and have Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog > Post Content set to Full Post AND have a more quick tag inserted in each post then the Post Loop widget will show content up the read more but the more buton. Also, be sure to check the Read More checkbox in the Post Loop widget settings.

And I want to show the snippet with formatting.

Formatting like bolding text etc. will appear in the Post Loop widget when using Blog template with the above discussed settings.
