Can’t seem to get a handle on the slider

https://www.dropbox.com/s/07acbajws3d5dz6/Screenshot%202015-03-15%2019.59.52.png?dl=0

1. I can’t find where the default slider is (in the screenshot, it says “Integrated with some fine plugins”). If you see in the right side of the screenshot, the top thing is Meta Slider. The Meta Slider is my slider with the 1 – 2 -3 in it. So where is the slider above it?

2. I can’t get MY slider to stretch across the screen like the one above it. The default for Metaslider was 700 x 300, so that’s the size I created. Makes no sense.

I had this problem as well.

You need to download the plugin “Meta Slider” first so that you can change the homepage slider.

    STEPS:
    Appearance> theme setting> home> home page slider

Hope it helps (I dont work here),

Downloading and installing the Meta Slider plugin was the first thing I did. I created a new slider and it showing up below the default one. Also, the default one is BETTER so I’m not sure what’s going on here.

One more thing, I notice that the default slider images are on layers: a front graphic PNG which overlays a background JPG.

Here is the background image: bit.ly/19sWyra
Here is the image with the PNG overlay: http://bit.ly/1CncSol

That is not an option on the Meta Slider plugin I just downloaded.

How is this theme using a plugin/widget before I download it?

How is it that I still can’t seem to use the plugin/widget correctly even after I download and activate it?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tim

Thanks for reaching out. Kollsman, thanks for jumping in here, that’s always appreciated.

As you’ve found out, the slider requires Meta Slider to be installed. Once you’ve created sliders there you can select them from Appearance > Theme Settings > Home or any page using the Meta Slider drop down menu in the right column.

Here is our Meta Slider overview, it covers the layering technique you noticed in the demo:
    https://siteorigin.com/vantage-documentation/slider/

Layering in Meta Slider Free is specific to Vantage, something the theme adds. Check out the tutorial for steps on that. It’s pretty easy. Layering allows you to keep your text in a centered layer while your background image stretches. This is super helpful when working with a full width slider. To stretch your slider you can go to Theme Settings > Home and select the stretch setting there.

    Hope this helps.
