Can’t log in as admin after server upgrade

7 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 7 years ago

My server did an update of some sort recently and I realized that while all of my other wordpress sites are working fine, the two that are using the Vantage theme won’t let me log in.

When I log in with correct user name and password, I just get kicked back to the log in page.
Once it logged me in.. but I had no dashboard/admin priviledges.

I saw a suggestion about not being able to log in ..that suggested deleting theme and letting wordpress revert to default theme, but that didn’t work. The site just didn’t come up at all.

Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions short of starting over from scratch.
These aren’t sites I update a lot so I hadn’t backed up wordpress content.

    Hi Mary

Sorry to hear about the problem. If you’ve deleted Vantage and the issue persists then, unfortunately, you’ve ruled out Vantage as the problem. You can also deactivate the plugins folder via FTP to rule that out as an issue.

It’s unlikely that a theme would cause the issue you’ve described. Hopefully, you’ve made some progress since posting.
