Hi,
I cant get the slider to work in this Portal theme!- I installed the NectGen slider and that wont work either ! The nextGen slider works fine on my SnapShot theme i have with another website ,so im not sure what the problem is with this Portal theme…..
Any suggestions?

Apologies, there does seem to be a problem with the Portal slider, I’m logging a bug report now.
If you’d like to stick with this theme you could perhaps insert a slider via Appearance > Home page using a widget from your slider plugin or a shortcode in a Text widget.

I have tried to add a slider using a widget ( the SiteOrigin Slider) and shortcode but no slider shows! I cant seem to get any slider working in this theme!

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Have you perhaps considered our SiteOrigin Slider widget? You could insert it in a row on your custom home page. Here is the documentation for that widget if you’d like to take a look.

Just logged in and checked my test page and the siteorigin slider is now working! Haven’t got time now to check it out on the home page but I will take a look at it tomorrow…

Just added the SiteOrigin slider widget to the home page and saved the page but the slider does not show up on the page!
It would be good if this problem was resolved with this theme – Don’t really want to move to another theme ,

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

I downloaded a different slider widget and that appears to be working, so ill stick with this one for now.
