Can’t add pages in my custom menu – Vantage Theme

Hello,

I’m curently encountering an issue with the menu in the Vantage Theme.
I used to have a menu so I know how to add pages and how to create a menu

Today I decided to remove some pages and to create new ones.
When I tried to update my menu, it just never found my pages.

As the page title is a bit long, I tried all the title, some words only, without any results.

The only page It display, is the Home page.
I also tried to delete the original menu and create a new one.

Same as before, only the Home page can be added. It’s like I have no other pages built….
I’m worried now, I’ve spendt so many hours to create those new pages, I really hope I won’t have to delete all of them in order to fix this.

I may have missed something, but what…..

Thanks for your kind help.

    Hi Trendy,

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    HEllo Alex,

I added your profile on my wordpress admin. Hope you’ll figure it out. In the meantime I buildt a new menu with links for each tab, instead of adding pages. It’s a solution like another…. don’t know if there will be an impact on my SEO.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Trendy,

So the issue here is that any of the pages that aren’t present are set to private. WordPress will not allow you to add a private page to your menu. You’ll need to make those pages private for them to be addable, or you’ll need to setup custom menu links for them.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

I understand it perfectly and It sounds logical, except that I Set up this menu before and the pages were already set up as private pages…. So my question is ; How this could have been even possible ? Is it due to a recent WP update ?

    Steps I followed before :

Page creation (name + custom url + Content for some of them)
    Set up as private pages
    Build up menu,
Found pages by typing their name in the search bar
    Added it to my menu…

    Not any single issue encountered

Again thanks a lot for your feedback and your expertise on this issue.

    Regards,
    TT

As a proof, kindly take a look at my second menu named “Menu tt footer”
I built both menu in the same time, but recently I wanted to update names on url, titles, etc in the custom menu.
As I never found my pages, I deleted the primary menu and when I tried to create it again, never found my pages…

The same pages have been identified as pages and the links are not broken…The menu tt footer is still in use at the bottom.

    Best regards,
    TT

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi TT,

Honestly, I’m not too sure. Sadly, you’ll need to unprivate the links to add them from now.
To clarify, is there a reason why you’re setting them as private if you wish for them to be publically linked too?
