cannot find page builder tab

6 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 6 years ago

Hi,
I am trying to make fix some issues in my site, which I created 2 years ago. I can edit only the home page with the page builder. when I try to edit all other pages I cannot switch to page builder anymore. I have read some threads on this issue, I deactivated all plugins and reactivated only the page builder, but the issue is not solved. I have also tried to change theme (I am using fusion by themeforest) with no results. the page builder plugin was sold in one bundle with the theme. the wordpress version is 5.2.2, all plugins and theme are updated. can you please help?

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

If you go to Plugins, which version of Page Builder by SiteOrigin are you using?

Does the issue perhaps improve if you install and activate the Classic Editor plugin?

Hi thank you for your reply. the version is 2.10.6. At the moment I am only able to edit my pages with the classic editor. however many settings where given using the page builder, and the classic editor does not recognise them.
the site is http://www.digitalvis.it. the home page is ok, I am able to edit it with the page builder. for all other pages the page builder is not active.
    thank you for your help

    Thanks.

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Mmm ok, I see you mentioned you tried a plugin conflict test already. Please, can you take a screenshot of the issue in the WP admin and upload it to imgur.com or a similar site so we can see how it looks.

Also, can you confirm, you’ve tried installing and activating the Classic Editor plugin? https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/

    Thanks

Thank you Andrew, I misunderstood you advice about classic editor. after writing my reply, I downloaded the classic editor, and magically I saw the page builder tab again. I copied the content of the page in the page builder, and now everything is working again. thank you very much for your help.

Super, glad to hear that helped.

Your existing Page Builder pages should have remained in the Classic Editor without the need for the Classic Editor plugin so there is an issue there. But, we don’t have to investigate it if you’re happy to work in the Classic Editor. Resolving the issue would most likely involve having a look at error logs etc. since it isn’t clear what the issue was and a plugin conflict test didn’t show any positive results.
