Cannot Edit HTML Block in Page Builder

7 years ago · Last reply by Adam Hardy 7 years ago

Hi all,

I’ve been enjoying using the page builder, although have encountered a persistent error that I’m unable to remedy.

I have added some custom HTML blocks into a page to add some pre-made sections from elsewhere on the site, and one for some page-level CSS styles.

Now that I have added and saved these blocks, I cannot re-edit them – when I click the edit link it opens the modal and begins to load for about half a second, the redirects to a blank page with the current time and date – this happens with all my HTML blocks on each page I have added.

Extra info:

None of the HTML has any JavaScript in it, only some basic HTML / CSS – nothing fancy.
I have tried switching to text-edit mode (WordPress editor) but the HTML is not carried over
The code blocks display just their content fine on the front end of the site

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Adam.

    Hi Adam,

The date outputting when you open a widget is a common sign that Wordfence, for whatever reason, has incorrectly flagged the request. To resolve this please navigate to WP AdminWordfenceTools and open the Live Traffic tab. Filter by Blocked by Firewall and search the request you just made, it’ll be associated with your user account and the parm will start with body: instance=%7B%22frames%22%3A%5B%7B%22content Click Whitelist param from Firewall.

That solved it – thanks a lot!
