Cannot change language on “Posted on” and “continue reading” button

10 years ago · Last reply by Greg Priday 10 years ago

Hello,

Im running the teme Vantage and Pagebuilder.

I am not able to change the language on the “Continue reading” button and the “Posted on” text.

I have tried to edit my language file for vantage theme in Poedit and uploaded without any success.

Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi Robin

Could you perhaps try https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/ and see if you get a different result?

    Hello Andrew,

    thank you for quick answer.

I tried loco translation on my vantage lang file without success.

Seems like something else is overwriting these translations.

As i can see these are the places where the “Continue reading” is used:

    #: content-page.php:25 content-single.php:34 content.php:46
    #: templates/template-full-notitle.php:26
    msgid “Continue reading →”
    msgstr “Les mer →”

Cannot understand why it doesnt work.

    Okey,

I figured out how to change the “Continue reading” text.

I found it under Vantage Premium Theme Settings -> Blog -> Read more Text.

But i cant figure out how to change the “Posted on……by”.
There are checkboxes on the same page where i have the option to disable post-metadata, date and author but not to change the language for them.

Phew, ok, I’m also stumped on the post meta data string. Let me dive in tomorrow with a fresh mind. Please, don’t spend anymore time on this. We need to solve the problem, I’m sure we can tomorrow. Apologies for the hassle.

    Hi Robin

I think this issue came up because we changed some of the text strings but didn’t update the POT files. We’ve updated these, but haven’t released the update with the fix.

As a temporary fix, you download this latest copy of the Vantage languages folder. Just extract this, and replace vantage.mo and vantage.mo in the languages folder of Vantage on your web server.

Please let me know if this does the trick for you.
