Cannot add Google Map

Hi, I added the Google Map plugin and followed the instructions supplied. I also created a new project on Google to get an API Key, which I added and it didn’t work at all. I don’t know what else to do. Help please.

    Hi Jonathan,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

Also, Could you please send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve recently embedded the code from Google Maps into your ‘editor’ widget and that works fine. However, if it looks any better using your Google Maps widget I would prefer to use that. You can see an example of where I have tried to view this on this page: http://ventamsystems.net/wp/about/

If I’ve done this right, the contents of my console for this page is:

jquery-migrate.min.js:2 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
    jquery.cycle.min.js:1 [cycle2] –c2 init–

    Thanks.
    All the best,

    Jonathan.

    Hi Jonathan,

    Sorry for the delay.

Could you please create a separate test page with a SiteOrigin Google Maps widget present? Once you’ve done that can you please view said page and send me the contents of your console? Then please reply with a link to test page you created.

    Hi Jonathan,

    Sorry for the delay.

Google Maps is reporting that the API present doesn’t have the required libraries added. Please navigate to either this page for a dynamic map or this page for a static map.

These will require that you regenerate the API key so you’ll need to switch over the API key.

    Hi Jonathan,

Unfortunately, based on the error message, the API key didn’t have all of the required libraries. To add the API key to the widget you simply need to open the relevant page editor and open the SiteOrigin Google Maps widget. The API key field will be right near the top of the widget settings.
