I am trying to figure out a way of customizing the contact for a subject by filling in information from one of my fields. For instance, I use the forms for school and my students are in blocks; block 1, block 2. I have a drop down for the blocks. I would like when I get emailed the form for the subject to read “”CRIT New Form from Block 1″”. The Block 1 would populate according to the field in the form. I know in custom coding it would be a code like “CRIT New Form from “”, But I am afraid to touch any codes without asking-hopefully its an easier way. Its been a long time since Ive hard coded.”
Can I customize the contact form subject?

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible without a fair amount of custom coding. This is beyond the scope of what we can help you with on our forums, but we can point you in the right direction in doing this. Please give the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle developer documentation a quick read as it’ll outline how to modify our widget without having to edit code. This should, in turn, give you a good idea on how to accomplish this. I would recommend accomplishing this by adding a Custom Contact Form field rather than overriding one of the existing fields.

And I cannot seem to even find the “”Open up the so-widgets-bundle folder and open up widgets/so-button-widget/so-button-widget.php”

That’s the correct page, yes.
I don’t know the exact location of your plugin directory, but if you have SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle installed, you have the the listed files – I’m not sure where. The default path is wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/widgets/button. Consider reaching out to your hosting provider and ask if they can find them.
Please note that this won’t directly help you with adjusting the contact form, only the button widget. I would still recommend following along as it’ll give you an idea of how to adjust the contact form.
