Can I create a page jump link using SiteOrigin Hero?

By sam, 7 years ago. Last reply by sam, 7 years ago.

I’ve got three small hero widgets at the top of my page, and I’d like them to link to areas further down on the same page. However, when I try to create a link to the anchors I’ve made using, for example RESOURCES in the URL field in the widget, it either doesn’t work or just reloads the page at the top. Is there a way to do this? Alternatively, is there a better widget to use for this purpose? The page is http://greenhealthcare.ca/networkhub, and I’m using the hero widget for the three boxes at the top.

Thanks,

Sam

I just noticed that the example I wrote didn’t show up properly, but it should read

    RESOURCES.

without the spaces. And then of course an anchor on the page at RESOURCES.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sam,

Yes, the hero widget can do this. There is no “recommended” widget to do this as any widget that allows for links can do this.

To do this, please open up the page and open the row you wish to scroll to by clicking the wrench icon above it. Head over to the row styles sidebar and open the Attribute settings group. Set a descriptive row id – for example, about-us, contact, company etc, and then close the row.

Open the hero widget and ope nthe hero frame. Now you have two methods of linking to the row you want to scroll to.

    Button
If you haven’t already, set up buttons for your hero widget and then set the destination URL to #ROW-ID-HERE, so for example – #about-us, #contact, #company.

    Background Link
The second method is to set a background link. Please open up your frame and open the Background settings. Set the destination URL to #ROW-ID-HERE, so for example – #about-us, #contact, #company.

Let me know if this works for you.
