Can I add an icon using a shortcode in the editor widget?

I want to place icons within some text. Can I do this using the text editor widget and a shortcode. In the same way that you can add buttons to the hero slider image.

Not a coder so just a tryhard. Thanks for any help in advance.

    Sure, this can be done, you’ll need a plugin or some code to power the shortcode. One option might be to use https://wordpress.org/plugins/font-awesome/.
