I had activated call now button on my website page for people who use mobile. After I made my website
look the same in mobile by changes in layout as you told me previously, the phone call button is not appearing
anymore. is it related. can I have the button back again?
Hi Nahdi
Is that a separate plugin you used? If it’s this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/call-now-button/ then I’m not sure it works. I tested it last week. It didn’t appear on mobile during my local testing.
yes that’s the one. is there any you recommend? and do you know how can I have my mobile number clickable, I mean when someone click it in theit mobile device it call my number directly?
That plugin didn’t work in my testing. I don’t have any recommendations in this area at the moment. In your other thread on this topic I detailed how to make a number clickable. Hope that helps.
Hi Nahdi,
I’m the creator of this plugin and saw your question. The reason that the button is not appearing on your mobile is because the site isn’t responsive. When I open your website on my mobile I see the same as on my desktop, just shrunken down a bit to fit. When this happens, it means that the WordPress theme your using is not responsive. If you want the plugin to appear you could add a line of code (see below) to the head of your theme, but I don’t recommend doing that as it would prevent your website from shrinking to fit and you would only see a small portion of your site on your mobile and you’ll have to scroll horizontally and vertically to reveal the content.
Generally a responsive site doesn’t resize, but rather restructures so it’s content is presented in a way that better matches the size of your mobile screen. It’s is different/modified design specifically for smaller screens. Additionally, that line of code that I mentioned earlier will generally be present on a responsive site. There are some variations possible, but generally it looks something like this:
So for the call now button to work when your website is opened on a mobile you woud need to use a responsive WordPress template…
Cheers,
Jerry
ok thanks jerry
Hey Jerry
Thanks for reaching out, that’s super good of you.
Nahdi, the meta viewport tag gets removed when you disable responsive behaviour. You did this to make your site look identical on mobile. The question was addressed in another thread.
ok thanks Andrew, I should find a plug in for it
