Button Widget cannot edit after publish

Greetings

I’m using vantage theme with siteorigin page builder + widgets bundle on the WordPress 5.02 platform.

Using Site Origin Page Builder I am making a new row and adding the siteorigin button widget.

If you DO NOT edit and enter the title or link for the button immediately and you just publish as is then it is impossible to to edit the button widget after the button widget has been published.

Blank buttons that dont have title and URL cant be edited after publish.

If using the button widget you must make the row add the widget and edit adding the title and hyperlink URL immediately BEFORE you publish or you will get locked out.

Should you make a button widget and not enter the title and URL immediately and then you have published you will then need to delete the widget and start over making sure this time that you enter the title and URL BEFORE you publish.

Hopefully this will save siteorigin button widget users some time.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi LenCooper,

Can you please elaborate on what happens if you try and edit the button? What do you see? The date? A blank page? Either occurring when you open a widget is a common sign that Wordfence, for whatever reason, has incorrectly flagged the request. To resolve this please navigate to WP AdminWordfenceTools and open the Live Traffic tab. Filter by Blocked by Firewall and search the request you just made, it’ll be associated with your user account and the parm will start with body: instance=%7B%22frames%22%3A%5B%7B%22content Click Whitelist param from Firewall.

If that’s not the case and you’re isntead seeing something else, can you please elaborate on what you’re seeing? If you receive an error message, what is the error message? Is this issue occurring with the Classic Editor or the Block Editor (ie. Gutenberg)?

    SOLVED

thanks for the spot on advice

Trying to edit the siteorigin button widget that had no title and no URL I found that wordfence firewall was blocking the request and supplying a page with the date in top left corner

I have WP502 with vantage theme and all pages are siteorigin editor (not in Gutenberg)

When checking the wordfence firewall live traffic I can see the message

blocked by firewall for XSS: Cross Site Scripting in POST body:

now whitelisted the action and button widget working correctly

Perfect – Just Perfect. ALEX your answer was 100% <<<<<<<<<

Many Thanks for your help and all best wishes for the 2019 year
