Trying out the vantage theme along with page builder plugin. So far I like it very much.
I’m also using a plugin (Enhanced Media Library) to categorize images in media library.
Wondering if it’s possible to query media files using the build post query function and displaying images as a gallery or slider…
I’ve tried wpinked widgets and livemesh widgets to query media files but nothing is displayed (portfolio/grid/and other query widgets).
Using the standard page builder post query widget only displays titles and links to attachment page.

I can definitely help you with this, and you’ve also picked the perfect theme for to do this due to the post templates included with the theme. Regrettably some of them are broken at this time – just noticed them not working. :S
Okay, so firstly we’re going to want to install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle to get a little more out of the post loop widget. Then, once you’ve installed that refresh the page with the widget on it and open up the widget. It’s pretty similar to how it previously looked however it’s much more powerful now. So now you want to do is click build posts query, select the media post type and input: post_status=any into the additional field.
Now for selecting your template; only three aren’t working at this time. Slider, Grid, and Carousel Slider. I can promise you right now this is something we’re looking into and should hopefully have a fix for soon.

Now the images do show up and not only links, still buggy though. Looking forward on the update.
Would like to see feature loading image galleries from media library with post query (when using media categories). With images linked to it self, creating lightbox galleries etc…

I’ve marked this thread as a feature request. We often look through these threads to get ideas for what to add in our future updates. Hopefully, we’ll be able to add this in a future update. If you need this urgently, you could always post a job on Codeable.
