Hi,

on the website i’m managing : http://sainte-marie-vitre.org/
There are 2 problems

1st : when i try to access to a submenu from the main menu when i am with a tablet, (as it’s working on :hover) I basicaly can’t access to the submenu. Any idea of how can i do to fix it ?

2nd : I don’t know why, but since a few weeks all my webicons are not showing, and i can’t find where does it come from.

Thanks for the help.

Best regards,
GB

Oh by the way, to overload the vantage premium, i used the childtheme technique.
I didn’t overload a lot, so i really don’t believe it comes from this.

    Hi Gaetan

    Thanks for reaching out.

    1. On tablet the submenu should be accessible with a single click on the parent item. Have you given this a try?

    2. The problem is that by the looks of it, you’ve copied most or all of the parent style.css file into your child style.css file. Ideally, only the selectors that you’ve edited should be in the child style.css. No point in loading the same selectors twice right. At the moment you have our old selectors in there for search which uses sprites. We’ve moved this over to using font icons so that the search icon color can be changed from the Customizer.

Looking at your head again you might need to review how you’ve customised the theme. Ideally the Vantage parent CSS should still be loading with only the customised selectors in your child theme CSS. I’m not entirely sure what you’ve done.

    Hi Andrew,

    1. When i click on the parent item, it load the page of the parent item. It still open the submenu, but as the next page is loading i don’t have the time to read the submenu.

    2. For this problem i see what you mean, i’ll see tonight the files i’ve changed.

That’s a tough situation. You’d need to either:

    a. On the parent page, list the sub pages at the top as a kind of manual menu.
    or
    b. Abandon the parent page, make the parent menu item a Link element from Appearance > Menus. Once the Link is added, remove the url.

OR push the mobile menu to tablet, Appearance > Theme Settings > Navigation, increase mobile menu breakpoint to say 780 or 1024.

About my problem with the icons, i solved by extracting the overloaded css and just importing the Vantage style.css instead of copying the styles in my folder.

    Everything is working fine now
