Broken rows with new update

Hi, I have the same issue as another poster, the new Page Builder update has broken my rows (so now every single product page shows everything as one long column on the left, it’s incredibly hard for my customers to see the information as I want it laid out). I spent about 3 full days redoing all my layouts of my shop products pages, so I need to get this fixed. I’m not sure if it’s the Page Builder update itself (Version 2.5.3), or the SiteOrigins Widget Bundle (Version 1.8.6) that’s created the problem. You can see the issue by clicking on any of the individual products in the shop at https://peacockandfig.com/shop). I am using WP Rocket for minification and caching, right now I have Google fonts, HTML, and CSS minified (with a few exceptions in the advanced settings). If I need to exclude any CSS files from minification, can you tell me what they will be? I’m trying to keep my site speed up, I don’t want to turn off minification or caching entirely.

Thanks very much, I love your plugin (it came with my premium theme, Kadence Themes Pinnacle Premium), but with over 50 pages using the page builder layout I really need this fixed.

Dana

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dana,

I just had a quick look at your website and I can’t seem to see the described issue. Did you manage to resolve this issue or did you restructure the page? If the former, I suspect the WP Rocket minify is the source of the issue. Please exclude siteorigin-panels-front (file: front-flex.css). How does that look?

Hi Alex, I had to turn the CSS minification off on WP Rocket as I couldn’t get it to work with the update to the SiteOrigin plugins. I did enter the url into the “CSS files to exclude from minification” settings (/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/css/front-flex.css), but it still didn’t work. That makes me sad, I spent hours with a developer getting everything working perfectly and my site speed was up, only to have to turn it off because of the update. If there are any other urls I can include in the minification exclude settings and try it, I’d love to know. The only other one I found in my page source was /wp-content/uploads/siteorigin-widgets/sow-image-default-813df796d9b1.css, but that didn’t change anything either when added to the exclude settings. Thanks for your help!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dana,

Personally, I’m not very familiar with WP Rocket but I can definitely take a look at your overall settings to try and work out why the exclusion you input didn’t work.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? Please note that this will result in your website looking a tad odd temporarily. Ideally, please tell me an ideal time range for me to try this.

Hi Alex, I’m fine if you run the tests now. I’ll send you a separate email with the login url, it’s not the standard one. I’ve got CSS minification turned off currently in the WP Rocket settings, and you can see the urls I’ve put into the exclude box at the bottom of the advanced setting tab in WP Rocket. You’ll be able to see what I’m talking about by going to any of the shop individual product pages, an example is https://peacockandfig.com/flamingo-cross-stitch-pattern/.

    Hi Dana,

    Very sorry for the delay.

I’ve just had a look around and I can’t seem to see any major issues on your products page anymore. Did you manage to resolve this issue? To confirm that this wasn’t related to minifying I compared the results of CSS minified and not minified and wasn’t able to see a difference.

Hi Alex, it’s still shifting all the sections into one column on the left as soon as I turn CSS minification on, even though I have the exclusions in the settings for SiteOrigin. I’d attach a screenshot (I just turned CSS on and opened the page up in an incognito window and another browser entirely, it recreated the problem). I even tried on my iPad, I’ve never used that device to access my site, and it did the same thing. It only does it on the pages I’m using the page builder, like all my product pages. I guess it just can’t get fixed unless there’s another url I can put into the exclude settings.

Sorry, I’d attach a screenshot if I could, I can’t upload an image into this thread.

    Hi Dana,

Unfortunately, we’re unable to process attachments at this time. You’ll need to upload the image to an image hosting website like imgur or vgy.me. Regardless, I think I’ve worked it out. To clarify, I was able to replicate this issue by using a different computer. By the looks of it, WP Rocket requires the literal usage rather than the actual resulting file path. So in other words, this exclude path doesn’t work:

    /wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/css/front-flex.css

    This does:

    /wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/inc/../css/front-flex.css

Perfect, thanks so much for that Alex, that’s fantastic! :) If I could buy you a beer, I would. :)
