In the Theme settings I changed the following But none of the settings work at this moment
Specially the featured image thumb is important but also comment off
Perhaps I should change the settings somewhere else ?

I’m very sorry for the late reply. As it’s been a while since you posted this, I’m not sure what still is and isn’t an issue. A quick look at your website would suggest you’ve worked out the featured image issue however comments still look to be active on that page.
To disable comments, open your WordPress admin, navigate to SettingsDiscussion. Under the Default article settings grouping is a setting called Allow people to post comments on new articles. Untick the checkbox and save your settings. This will prevent comments on new posts with the option of enabling them on a post by post basis. You also have the option of disabling comments on older posts by going to them and manually disabling them.
To do that you’ll need to navigate to the intended post. Ensure that the discussions box is enabled (see the below image for a visual guide on this) Find on your edit post screen the discussion box and untick “Allow Comments”.
