Hi I’ve started a blog but the side bar of the website shows up on the blog page.
I want the blog to have a side bar but one that shows up all the previous entries as links on the side. This is the layout that most blogs have. I also still want to have the exisiting sidebar which I use on other pages as normal but not for this side bar to show up on the blog.
I’ve set the page as a ‘Blog’.
I can see there’s a widget call Archives which would do what I want, but is there a way to put this in the sidebar of the Blog page only?
Hi eliselangley
You can control which widgets appear on each page/section of your site with the following plugin: http://jetpack.me/support/widget-visibility/. The widget sidebar is manageable from Appearance > Widgets > Sidebar.
Install Jetpack plugin, go to Jetpack > Settings, activate Widget Visibility, go to Appearance > Widgets, insert Archives into the sidebar, edit the Archives widget, click Visibility at the bottom and setup your rules.
