Blank page (Server Error 500) when publishing a page

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

Hi!

I’ve read so many posts here regarding my problem but none of the suggest solutions helped.

The problem: In 90% of the cases when I publish a page that I just edited with the SiteOrigin editor I get a blank page (the console shows a 500 error). I have to refresh 2-4 times until the page loads without this error.

I tried:
1. Increasing php memory limit to 256M (I’m hosting on AWS)
2.Clear all caches
3. Disable all plugins (even with only the SiteOrigin plugin and an empty page it still happens)
4. I changed to a standard theme (usually I use the Inbound Theme)

What else can I do and how can I detect what’s actually happening.

Thank you!

    Hi Dave,

Please enable WP_DEBUG and then enable WP_DEBUG_LOG which will require using FTP. Please try editing a SiteOrigin Editor widget and then please navigate to the wp-content directory over FTP and open debug.log. What is the error message?

Hi Alex, I found a solution. Just duplicated the page and now using the new page that loads without errors…

    Hi Dave,

That suggests there was a page setting or meta value that was causing you issues, as a result, this appears to be unrelated to SiteOrigin Page Builder. I would recommend being careful adjusting your page settings as this could on any page.
