Background/Masthead Issue on Mobile

8 years ago · Last reply by Eric 8 years ago

I’m trying to setup header using background image and i’m using Masthead to insert further images and perhaps a discriptive. I placed the background image via customize/theme design/page/masthead background. It looks ok on the big screen but in mobile view it’s not resizing.

I’ve been going through every but obviously i’m missing something.

The website is http://www.arvfd.ca/WordPress/ and it is still very much, a work in progress. I’m using Vantage Premium 2.5.4.

Thank you.

Eric

I removed the background via customize/theme design/page/masthead background and instead used customize/theme settings/logo/ using the logo and retina image of the same background. Now the background is empty and just shows the information I have in the Masthead. I’m trying to get a neat look on a mobile screen. The url is still http://www.arvfd.ca/WordPress/

For comparison purposes I would like for it to display on a mobile screen like this one does. http://cesarpalacio.com/ First things first though is how do I get the background to display on any screen but then display on mobile smartphones correctly as well.

    Thank you,

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

Can you please add the background again so I can inspect the resulting differences? I will state though that you’ll need to use CSS to manually resize the contents of the masthead as currently the masthead will be stretched quite a lot due to the size of the masthead on mobile. I can assist with this CSS.

To clarify, the other site works without issue as it’s a single image (not recommended) vs multiple images (recommended) – specifically, it’s the logo.
