I am trying to test the use of a background image in order to have linked text displayed over an image. I cannot even get an image to display. I have created a test page using Site Origin Builder, and one row with Visual Editor added. The row has 3 sections I am using the middle one. I have added the image to the Display/background image, and set it to Fixed. No image is showing. This is currently on a test site with WP 4.9.5 running tesseract (the live site is a 5.4 version). Our site host who set up the site is so far unable to help. Any ideas?
Hi, thanks for reaching out.
Is the page public? If so, please, could you send us a link so we can take a look?
Andrew,
Thanks for responding. However, since sending my message I have discovered that the way to add a background image is to use CSS code. I found the details here – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/page-background-image-2/
. However, I am surprised that the background image setting on the row editing screen doesn't work.
I am happy with the solution I found, so please close the issue.
Thanks again,
Regards

Hi John
Thanks for the update.
In a normal situation, the background image settings work at a widget, cell, and row-level. If you’d ever like to circle back and troubleshoot the issue, please, let us know and we’ll take a look. I’m glad to hear you’re making progress.
Cheers for now.
