Hi,
When I upload a background image to the row it gets too dark. I would like to change the dark grey to a light one or just have the image as I uploaded It. Is there any possibility in doing this?
This is the site Iäm working on at the moment www.williamlarsson.com
Thanks, Kajsa
Hi Kajsa,
We don’t make any adjustments to images you upload. In fact, all of the image upload functionality is handled directly by WordPress. As such, you should try a plugin conflict test. While it’s not a conflict it’ll help you identify the plugin causing you issues.
Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
What was the resolution to this? I’m experiencing the same issue with minimal plugins installed.
Hi Rztutor,
Kajsa never responded so it’s likely they managed to resolve the issue or used a work around. Sorry I couldn’t give you a more direct answer! :(
Have you tried the plugin conflict test I mentioned in the above post? There was one more thing I didn’t mention, you may need to regenerate thumbnails after doing this.
Also, if the image is a png, it’s possible the image has a dark background instead of a transparent one due to an issue (more of a lack of a PHP extension than anything) with your server.
Hey Alex,
Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, after disabling 4 out of my 6 plugins, leaving just my two siteorigin plugins (pagebuilder and widget bundle), my background is still completely dark (Private Snippet). I believe these images are .jpg so the .png fix you mentioned shouldn’t be the cause. At this point, I’m hesitant to install another plugin that I don’t have control over (read: I’m too css-illiterate).
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Rich

Hi Rztutor,
I’ve hidden the link – is that fine?

Fixed it with:
Appearances –> Editor
.panel-grid .overlay {
display: none!important;
}
Hi Kajsa,
Oh that’s odd. It looks like you’ve added that via “inline CSS”. I’m not too sure how to access that – I’m honestly not very familiar with this theme.
