Hi all… I wonder if anyone can help me with an annoyance!
…really puzzled by the Page Background used on my newbuild WordPress Site…
http://www.dbcj-dev.co.uk/db/blakehall
Everything is looking great but for the Page Background when viewed on an iPhone…
When viewed on an Android phone or a web browser, the background image is fixed and stays put while the other elemts scroll nicely over it..
Stupid iPhones move the background with the rest as it scrolls losing the cool effect and looking pretty bad!
What do I need to do to make this work nicely like it does on the other browsers?
If this is impossible, how would I tell the background image to be cut short to meet the gold bar at the top of the Slider (so the Background Image only shows through the tinted bot at the top and not between the Top and Bottom SiteOrigin elements) at the bottom (in each case as the pages vary in height, dependent on the amount of text in the top element)?
Many thanks in advance…
Dave
Hi Dave,
Unfortunately, this isn’t possible. Safari has purposefully disabled fixed background for performance and battery related reasons. I’m surprised it works for you on Android as Google has done the same thing – are you using Chrome?
I’d like to help you with this, but unfortunately, this is beyond the scope of the support we’re able to offer on our free forums as there is a fair amount of custom work involved.
We do offer this level of support to our premium users, so if you’d like to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then I can help you over email support.
If you’d prefer not to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then you can hire a WordPress developer from Codeable. They’ll charge you an hourly rate for any work done.
