Background image has a large white block over it

Using the visual editor I inserted a background image, with a 600px spacer. Image is set to “cover”. Layout is set to “full page”. When I view the page I see the background image, but its behind a large white block which covers most of the image. I had created this page a couple of weeks ago and it has been fine until today. What could be the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Alex,
    Thank you for responding to my issue. I was able to solve problem by adjusting the padding, which should not have been necessary. I think the problem is either in page builder or in the spacer "widget", possibly even in the visual editor widget. I'm a total novice, but quickly learning.
