Back to top button with mobile device

Finally the local build site is online, using the beautiful Vantage Theme. Only when showed at a smart phone (mobile device) the very useful Back to Top button disappears.
Any idea why this is happening?, it’s especially for mobile use that I like that button.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jac

Good to hear from you. Glad things are moving along with your site.

Yes, this is unfortunately de-activated on mobile. It was done so inline with mobile best practices but I hear you, it would be nice to have it as a user option.

I’ve created this child theme for you:

    https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/vantage-child-mobile-back-to-top.zip

Install the ZIP from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.

Activating a child theme will cause all Customizer, Menu and Widget settings to reset. Test the child theme out first. If it works then you can look at redoing those settings.

If you do land up redoing your settings I usually open the parent theme Customizer in one tab, activate the child theme in another and then manually copy the settings across.

If you have an existing child theme then just check what I’ve done in functions.php and the folder js in my child theme and move those into your child theme.

Let me know how this goes. What I’ve done is dequeue the theme’s JavaScript file, make a change and then enqueue it again in the child theme.
