[…] as a link in post description

Hi,

I’ve got another question. When you look at a blog post you see a short version first which ends on […]. How can I link “[…]” to the long blogpost (right now you get only linked if you click on the mini picture or on the headline)? So when you click on “[…]” it sends you directly to the post.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chris

Head to Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog, change the Post Content from Excerpt to Full Content. Then use the More tag in your posts: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Andrew,

I tried that, but it links me to the middle of the post, not the start (and not even where the spliiting tag is). I would like to have it start at the top, so you can see the picture first.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    Hi, I Work Here

That’s the default behaviour of the more tag. You click to read more, so it takes you to where you left off.

Try the following child theme to remove the scroll:

    https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/vantage-child-remove-read-more-scroll.zip

You can install it from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.

Test it out first. If it works you’ll unfortunately need to redo Appearance > Menu and Appearance > Customizer settings.
