Anything Carousel Layout Builder columns collapse

I am trying to create a carousel using the ‘Anything Carousel’ widget. Inside the widget I chose ‘Layout Builder’ in the items. When i create a 2 column row inside this builder, the widgets in the columns always collapse in the preview and site. I want them to display side by side. I have tried setting the collapse behaviour in layout to no collapse, but that did not change anything.
