Animation on mobile phone problem

Notice: This thread is over two years old; the information may be outdated. Please consider creating a new thread if you require free support. If you have an active SiteOrigin Premium license, you can email our premium support desk at [email protected].

Hi,

I am using your page builder and I like it very much. However, currently, I have a problem with widget animations on mobile phones. When I load same page on PC, animations work great. But, when I am looking from a mobile phone, I see only a blank page and content will not load itself and I have to roll over first to show up. Is there any advice on how to fix that? For a closer look at what I am writing about look for example on https://www.serenityexplorers.cz/portfolio/za-velrybami-na-lofoty/

Thank you for any reply.

Sincerely,
Tomas.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tomas

On your home page, the first slider does load on mobile, it just takes some time to load. I checked the Orca image and it was 520kb so perhaps, you could check the image file sizes.

How are you introducing animations? If you think animations are the issue, try testing the page without animations.

    Hi Andrew,

thank you for the response. There is no problem with the first slider or with the homepage which works fine. The problem occurs when loading the portfolio page. The page is built with a slider on the beginning (works fine) and then I use text blocks (the row with a text editor widget). For every widget, I use Fade In Up Big type of animation. When I disable animation there is on mobile phone no problem and page loads normally. When animation is on, it behaves as described before. It would be easy to turn off animations on every page (but this would be a lot of work, since I have many pages and on every page more than 15 animations) but then it would be lost for PC look as well.

    Best regards,
    Tomas.

    Hi, I Work Here

Sorry, you did say it was on the portfolio page.

The portfolio page does load on my phone, the slider just loads very slowly. If the issue is resolved by deactivating the animation and if that animation is being handled by Kadence then they’d be in the best position to assist or advise further.

    Dear Andrew,

since I have not been able to solve the problem so far, I decided to take pictures and photos of what I am experiencing and dealing with. I hope it will enlighten my problem and its description.

The first video depicts the delayed responses of text and other content of one of my pages. Content will show only when I slide through all screen down.

This picture depicts layout of this page in WordPress.

And this picture shows the settings of animation used for widgets.

I will be glad for any opinion. And I do not think this problem is because of the slider size since I have tried this page without it and the response was still slow. What’s more, the problem occurs even with widgets, which have only text, therefore small size.

    Best regards,
    Tomas.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tomas

Thanks for the update and extra info.

Before I dive in further. Is your premium Kadence license currently active? If so, have you tried reaching out to their support team? If the issue is related to animations and those animations are powered by Kadence and you’re using a premium Kadence product then it’s the perfect situation to make use of premium support which usually has a much wider scope than free support.

Please, let me know and we’ll take it from there. Thanks again.

    Hi, I Work Here

The animations function at a normal speed on my iPhone 10 using Chrome. Here is a screencast.

If the page in question was using the SiteOrigin Premium Animations addon, we’d be in a position to troubleshoot the issue. Because we haven’t authored the animations in use on the page, it’s quite challenging for us to assist. Ideally, the author of animations would take a look at the problem and assist.

Please, let me know about the questions I asked in my previous reply, we’ll take it from there. Thanks.

    Hi Andrew,

thanks for your answers. According to your advice, I have contacted the Kadence support team right now. We will see. As I will get their answers I will let you know and we will continue accordingly. However, thank you for your screencast. It gives me hope that not on all devices it looks so bad. But now I am puzzled much more :-) We will see what Kadenc will say.

    Best regards,
    Tomas.

And one more thing. I am not using SiteOrigin Premium Animations addon. Tomas.

    Hi, I Work Here

Hi Tomas, thanks for the update.

To clarify, if you were using the SiteOrigin Premium Animations addon, we could investigate as we are in control of the source code. However, given that the issue relates to animations and you’re using Kadence animations, it would be best for Kadence to take a look. Hopefully, that’s a bit clearer than my first attempt.

Yes, all is normal with regards to the animations loading on my phone. Let us know how it goes :) Thanks!

    Hi Andrew,

after some attempts, I have find out, that on some mobile phones it is perfectly ok and there are no problems, while at some devices the problem persists. I asked the Kadence theme support team for advice and we concluded to the solution of using CSS code which disabled all animation for mobile devices. Now, there is no issue at all.

I just wanted to let you know. Thank you for your help.

    Best regards,
    Tomas.

    Hi, I Work Here

Super, I’m really glad to hear you’ve made progress. Deactivating animations for mobile makes sense to ensure a consistent mobile experience.

    Cheers for now :)
