anchor tag disappears from editor

10 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 10 years ago

In this thread (https://siteorigin.com/thread/anchor-links-not-jumping-to-right-place/) a solution is given for anchor tags moving behind a fixed header.

However the will disappear from the siteorigin editor widget everytime you open the editor, wether in visual mode or not.
The same applies for

When i replace the ‘id’ for ‘name’ it does remain in place but an anchor tag with ‘name’ is not a valid html5 code (http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp)

So it seems to work with the ‘name’ iso ‘id’ but how future proof is this?

    Hi :)

If you use the Text widget your HTML would stay in place. I think the loss only happens in the SiteOrigin Editor when you switch from Text to Visual. I believe it’s the same case with the Visual Editor widget. If name is working then that’s 100%. I haven’t tried anchors with name, if it’s working then it’s fine, I don’t see any future issues.
