I have an SEO questions for you.
I have alt text on all my photos however I noticed the alt text does not show through in the HTML of photos using SiteOrigin Image unless I add the alt text to them inside of SiteOrigin image Edit page. Is this correct or am I missing something?
Is there a way to make it show through without having to re add alt text to every SiteOrigin Image widget? I have about 700 photos on my site so that will take some time.
If I do need to add all the alt text to the SiteOrigin Image widget: Will using the same alt text I have already added to the photo in my Media Library create duplicate content or a keyword stuffing penalty?
Please let me know if I am wrong and the alt will already be seen by Google, ect.
Thank you for any help or advice you can offer.
Hi Robert
Thanks for your question. You’re correct. The solution would be to substitute the SiteOrigin Image widget with the SiteOrigin Editor widget. In the Editor widget, use the Add Media button to add your image, the alt information from the Media Library will be displayed in the source code.
Hope that solution works for you.
Just to confirm I will need to remove my photos from the SiteOrigin Image widget and then repost them using the SiteOrigin Editor widget if I want the alt text to show?
Correct, if you want the Alt text to show automatically. Alternatively, as you initially mentioned, you could manually insert the text in the Image widget.
Ok I will do that, Thank you
Thanks for your understanding. If any further challenges arise, please, let us know.
All the best.
Hi,
I am in the same situation than Robert. Thanks for explanations! I would like to know which alt google considers for SEO: the alt written in the media gallery, or the one written in SiteOrigin image ?
Thanks for your help,
Best,
MC
