Hi there,

is there a way to turn off vantage’s behavior to remove all html markup, that i enter into the site information text?

It was working before, now i tried to do a change and all my links are gone.
I would like the theme to not make any changes to the entered code at all, if possible.

Best regards,
Volker

    Hi Volker

Can you confirm you’re running the latest version of Vantage? If you navigate to Appearance > Themes, hover over Vantage and click Theme Details. You should see a version number. You should be running version 2.3.3.

    Hi Greg,

Yes i am running 2.3.3. and when i enter anything in and press Save everything within the parentheses does not show up anymore.

    Sorry,

the forum text field seems to show a similar behavior.
In my post just now i entered a text in parentheses and after hitting post it vanished.
Therefore my last post now reads ‘when i enter anything in (…….. missings ……) and press Save…’ whereas the original post was:
[code} Yes i am running 2.3.3. and when i enter anything in and press Save everything within and includign the parentheses does not show up anymore.
    [/code]

This is exactly the same behavior i get in the site information text field.

This forum uses the standard WordPress comment system, which in turn uses standard input sanitization that Vantage is also using. So it makes sense that there’s the same behaviour.

Can you let me know exactly what you’re entering in the Site Information text? Just post it here, between the code shortcodes. There’s a small comment on using code shortcodes below the comment box. I’ll use that to test things on my side.

    Website is located at https://www.neurologie-psychiatrie-ehingen.de
    Watever i enter in

    < text in between>

    brackets disappears after saving.
If you want i can send you login data to the site if that would help.

    Hi Vbretsch

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi Vbretsch

Sorry, I should have posted an update on this, but I never received the login details. Can you try posting them as a private reply?

    Hi Volker

Thanks for the details. I’ve logged in and created an example link called Home in your Site Information Text field. So now the complete field looks as follows:

    <a href="https://www.neurologie-psychiatrie-ehingen.de/">Home</a> | Ärztliche Berufsausübungsgemeinschaft für Neurologie und PsychiatrieDrs Bretschneider & KaritzkySternplatz 1, 89584 EhingenTelefon: 07391-72646 | Fax 07391-72648vCard

My link on it’s own look as follows:

    <a href="https://www.neurologie-psychiatrie-ehingen.de/">Home</a>

If the link syntax is not 100% correct then the link will get stripped.

Below the comment form field below you’ll see code tags, you used them earlier. If you could use those to paste in the HTML you’re trying to save we can take a look.
