All content lost and all widgets and rows fail

9 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 9 years ago

Often when I revert a page from the default editor to Site Origin editor
the content is lost completely and if I try to add a row or widget I get

(where the main content should be)

I am forced to completely rebuild the page, I am using make theme from the Site Foundry.

Please advise.

    Hi Pat,

Why are you reverting to the default editor? The “migration” from page builder to standard WordPress is spotty at best. We do not recommend switching unless you have a very good reason.

Please read my question. I am reverting FROM the default editor, TO the Site Origin editor.

That option is also offered for all content originally built in the default WP editor.

    Hi Pat,

The word from made me think you were switching back to the standard editor. I also do not understand what you’re trying to say in your second sentence. Could you clarify?

Regardless, it’s possible this is a plugin conflict. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Convert might be a better term than revert , but my issue still remains.

    Hi Pat,

Please follow the steps outlined in my post as that likely will resolve your issue.

“I also do not understand what you’re trying to say in your second sentence. Could you clarify? ”

When you create a page in the default WP editor, then click on the SO PageBuilder tab you are offered the option:

“would you like to copy this pages existing content to PageBuilder?”

    Hi Pat,

    Thank you for clarifying.
