All contact form or gallery were not working after update.

Bonjour,

I’m using the Sydney theme with Page Builder on every page. After the major uptades this week, my Unite Gallery plugin wouldn’t work properly.

After, I discovered useless spacing with my Site Origin contact form (it was 2 meters long! A non sens).

After, I’ve discovered that none of my forms (one from Site Origin contact from, the other from a testimonial plugin) are sending email. The page reloads without sending the form as it should.

I’ve read about the update of WordPress 4,9 and some Sydney theme and Page Builder support messages.

The only thing I found and tested that changed something was deactivating the content cache on Page Builder -> Content (Content Cache – Cache CSS and HTML generated by Page Builder.) It puts everything in order. But my galleries won’t show! What does that mean, what should I do from there?

Yes, I tested the deactivation of every plugin one by one, the one that causes my form to not show or function was Page Builder.

Even though, I don’t know where exactly is the problem or which updates is the problem, is it WordPress, my theme that had a update at the same time or Page Builder? Everything pointed me towards you, but.

Thank your for your help!

    Last update :

The widget of Unite Gallery plugin don’t show gallery on website. Shortcode does work : galleries appears.

The widget of Testimonial plugin shows the contact form but don’t send message. Shortcode does work : form is shown and SEND the message.

The widget of SiteOrigin contact form shows the form, but not as it should (too much spacing, it’s 2 pages long) but DON’T send message.

    SO editor widget works, though.

    Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hanna,

Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Content tab. Plase untick Content Cache and save. Does this issue remain for you?

In my first message, it is exactly what I said because I was reading it on this support platform.

I repeat : The only thing I found and tested that changed something was deactivating (untick) the content cache on Page Builder -> Content (Content Cache – Cache CSS and HTML generated by Page Builder.) It puts everything in order. But my galleries won’t show! What does that mean, what should I do from there?

But, I want to repeat that nothing through the usage of the widget works. Widgets don’t work anymore except the editor… I need to always use the shortcode if there is one. And when there is not, like the contact form from your SiteOrigin, what do I do? I would love that my widgets works properly, because it is suppose to.

    Thank you.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hanna,

To clarify, what shortcode are you specifically using and what plugin is adding said shortcode?
Also, what gallery are you using? What exactly happens when it stops working?

Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough, English is my second language and I’m trying the best I can to explain my problem.

So, as I said in all my previous messages, I am using the picture gallery UniteGallery plugin. When I speak about the shortcode, it is the text shortcode that you can put in your editor to make a form appear on your website, or a picture gallery per exemple. Sometimes they have a widget available when you open “widget” to add in a row, in Page Builder, right? Those are not working, I can only use the shortcode like -> [unitegallery “2”] in the text editor, so my gallery “2” is showing on my website. If I use any widget, like the UniteGallery widget, the pictures are not appearing on the website, or theSite Origin widget contact form form has extra spacing and doesn’t send message. The Testimonial widget doesn’t work either, it can’t upload new testimonials on the website despite adding them in the form of an article and click “publish”. I then changed for the shortcode [testimonial “views4”] or something, and now the new testimonials appear on my website. But everything works using the shortcode as above. But this is not alway an option!

But in your contact form, the Site Origin widget contact form, doesn’t send message when filling the form. The widget doesn’t work.

So, when I untick the content cache in the Page Builder options as you explained many times, I tried but when I do, my picture galleries disappear on my website, so no pictures can be seen! But everything else seems OK, like the form has a normal presentation but I didn’t try if the messages could be sent when filling the form.

It’s either a not working form and other widgets that are not working AND pictures working on my website (for which I found a solution but I still have NO solution for the Site Origin widget contact form), OR no pictures at all working but with a contact form working.

I don’t think I can explain better. I’m not doing the update as I saw it was deactivating the content cache until problems are resolved, I’m afraid I won’t find a way to have pictures working if I do! And I really need them.

    Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hanna,

    Sorry for the delay.

I’ve looked into the issue with why Unite Gallery isn’t working without the Content Cache and the issue is due to it using a non-standard method of inserting the gallery. Unfortunately, as a result, this isn’t something we can resolve at this time. The content cache has been removed pending a recode (which will fix a bunch of core issues) and that’s the only way to get the Unite Gallery shortcode working with SiteOrigin Page Builder. I would recommend bringing this up with the developers of United Gallery or, well… I know it’s not ideal, but alternatively, I would recommend changing to a different gallery that makes use of WordPress standards – such as FooGallery or Envira.

    I’m sorry.
