Ajax & Post Id & Site Origin Widget

By dp, 5 years ago. Last reply by dp, 5 years ago.

Hi There

First I would like to mention that your SiteOrigin pagebuilder is awesome. Its beautifully crafted, covering various features.

I have few queries regarding SiteOrigin widget:

1. How to get “post_id” inside widget form or in the widget class?
2. How to use “ajax” in SiteOrigin widget form, actually I need to develop 2 dropdowns inside widget form in which on selection of first dropdown the second dropdown will be populated using ajax request which will fetch values from database.
3. How to write custom HTML inside widget form?
4. How to create any input hidden field and is there any way to hide particular fields?

It would be very helpful if you can help me with the above queries.

Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dp,

All of your questions are really dependent on if you’re using the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle Framework or not. We’re not really able to assist with standard WordPress widgets or widgets created using different frameworks so this post is written with the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle Framework in mind. I would recommend looking for alternative resources for assistance with non-SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle widgets.

    1. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible at this time – you’re only really able to see the id before widget output on the frontend. I’ve logged this as a feature request. Can you please elaborate on what you’re specifically looking to do? This will allow me to provide the development team with a specific use case.

    2. This is done using a State Emitter.

3, 4. Unfortunately, we don’t have a dedicated hidden form field at this time. You can create a new form field by following these instructions.
