After updating WP to 5.5. Site builder doesn’t work

Looking at the list of pages/posts – it says “siteorigin page/post” but when you open it up, there is no way to add rows or widgets. The pages look fine if I don’t edit them, but there are widgets I can’t access. Using WP-Prosperity theme.

This makes me nervous because we have several clients using SiteOrigin and I’m sure they may update to WP5.5 and I wouldn’t want them to encounter this issue.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mary

    Thanks for reaching out.

Page Builder is compatible with WordPress 5.5+. If another plugin or theme creates an error on the page it’ll potentially cause all other plugins on that page relying on JavaScript to fail. Try to locate a working baseline. Temporarily switch to the Twenty Twenty theme and temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins. In this state, is the issue resolved? If so, reactivate your theme and plugins one by one, checking for the issue after activation.

Alternatively, you can try installing the jQuery Migrate Helper plugin. If it produces warnings, contact the theme or plugin authors linked to each warning and ask them to please, lend a hand. https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/. This might not be the issue but it’s a possibility.
